AKB0048 (pronounced "AKB zero-zero 48") is a 2012 Japanese anime television series based on the popular AKB48 idol group.[2] The anime is produced by Satelight, with Shōji Kawamori as chief director and writer. The first season aired in Japan between April 29, 2012 and July 22, 2012. The second season, AKB0048 Next Stage, started airing on January 5, 2013.
